  • Is Life a compilation of experiences or a series of moments?

Recently I have been wondering exactly what my perspective on life is and if it is changing. The older I become and the more I have to follow a routine of wake up, go to work, come home, go to bed, repeat....I am beginning to wonder where the happiness in life is?

I think growing up, maybe because I was more optimistic and even, ahem, naive, I believed life was a continuous path that you followed where there were periods of lows, but overall it was good and taken as a whole, made up a good experience.

Now, I am not so sure, I am beginning to wonder if life isn't just a series of moments that people work toward and remember. This realization, if true, is a bit disturbing, because it means that the lows of life are winning, and outweigh the good.

Perfect example, I went on a fishing trip with some friends to the coast this weekend. Great trip, one that i will always remember, but now I am back at work in the routine, back to "the grind", and am looking toward the next time I can go to the coast which won't be for awhile. So, I am working toward that time when I can take a break, but it seems like my life is disjointed, that I am seeking only those rare, precious moments when I don't have to think about all the crap in my life, the stress, the insecurity, the bills etc....

This seems to be the theme, as I work toward Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter...but I just don't know if this is how I want to live my life...or what I can do to change it.....

  • Sometimes life gives you lemons that are rotten and you can't make lemonade

That title about sums up how I feel right now.  Without going into a lot of detail, work has frustrated me to the point that I question the reason I go in to the job.
The more I experience the corporate world, the more I have disdain for it.  Everything, I mean EVERYTHING is driven for the pursuit of money.  Now, i am not naive to think that a company will survive unless they generate a profit, but where is the cutoff?  At what point do you stop making money for subsistence and begin to pursue it for greedy reasons?
Those Dilbert cartoons are not too far off from what my job is like...amazing...and sad....

What I would really like to do is to directly make a difference in someones life.  Not a BS well I have a job therefore I am a contributing member of society.  No, I want to actually wake up in the morning, go to work and leave knowing I directly impacted someone's life that day.  That would give me happiness and a sense of fulfillment.  That would make me want to wakeup and go to work....

But how do I do that???

Have you ever felt like you needed to just make a change in your life but couldn't get the necessary umph to set you in motion?

  • The heat and sustainability

Come on Texas, just a little relief from the heat, my AC bill can't take it....lol

Isn't it ironic that when people live in warm climates they always want to be colder, especially in the summer and the reverse is true also.  When you live in a cold climate, especially during winter, you always want it to be warmer.

Mankind can never be pleased with what it has.  Speaking of that, I saw a show on Discovery HD called Wild Pacific.  Amazing 6 part documentary on the Pacific Ocean and things in it/around it.  One of the things it explored was fishing and how mankind is using up all the fish in the sea.  The Atlantic Ocean is almost out of fish and the Pacific is next.  I didn't believe this until I saw how modern man fishes.  It is the most efficient thing you have ever seen, with a horrible consequence.  Picture this, a 700 ft net that encircles a school of fish and slowly, slowly, becomes tighter until all the fish are caught.  When I saw all, I mean EVERY LAST FISH IN THE SCHOOL is picked up.  While this is efficient, they bring in tons a day, it clearly is bad for the environment.  When you destroy an entire school of fish, there are none left to reproduce.

So why don't they just throw some back you ask?  Well fish, especially tuna need to constantly move in order for their gills to take in water and breathe.  These big nets trap so many fish at a time, they can't move and typically die by the time they are brought up; so even if you wanted to throw them back, they are dead.

I think mankind is hellbent on destroying itself.

  • Yo Mamma Jokes

So it has been awhile since I posted anything on Xanga, and I thought I would reminesce on my childhood, namely, yo mamma jokes.  Where did they go as I got older?  I guess as with everything else, people grow out of them, but I do pose the question:

Which is your favorite "Yo Mamma Joke"????????

Here are some of my favorite:

Yo Mama so stupid, when the pc said "Press any key to continue", she couldn't find the Any key.

Yo Mama's so stupid she thought Thailand was a men's clothing store.

Yo momma so poor your family ate cereal with a fork to save milk.

Yo Mama's so stupid she thought Meow Mix was a dance record by cats.

    and finally

Yo Mama so stupid, she thinks fruit punch is a gay boxer.

    LOL Discuss...
